Remote telescope operation site for students.

"Users need only a standard Web browser to be able to submit observing requests, find out about our telescope and compare it with the large Apache Point remote telescope . They can look at an image taken from an observation with our telescope and compare it with one taken from a standard star database held at NASA. "

"Welcome to the Faulkes Telescope Project, home of telescopes for astronomy education in the UK. The project makes a robotic telescope in Hawaii, and another one in Australia, available to students enabling them to carry out their own research in astronomy, working with local universities and providing them with inspirational science activities."

This is a listing by SEDS of the larger telescopes around the world. The list includes location and type and size of the telescopes. This is not necessarily an educational site, but a good starting point for research project on telescopes.

StarDial http://www.astro.uiuc.edu/stardial/

This is a camera really, not a "telescope". This automated camera takes a series of images of a swath of sky every night. These images can be used by students to investigate the night sky over a period of time when facilities to do so are not otherwise available. Formerly SIRTF. Cool Cosmos http://coolcosmos.ipac.caltech.edu/ is the education site connected with this space telescope that deals with IR and multi-wavelength astronomy. Check that main site for pictures.

Hubble Space Telescope http://hubblesite.org/
